Xi Jinping＇s thoughts on people＇s livelihood are the inheritance and new develop- ment of Chinese traditional people-oriented thoughts, and of Marxist thoughts on people＇s livelihood. Xi＇s ideas of the people＇s livelihood have substantial contents. He always emphasi- zes the highest position of the people; advocating that the improvement of people＇s liveli- hood is the starting point and the foothold of all work. According to his thoughts, the im- provement of people＇s livelihood must be systematic and scientific; fast development is an important guarantee for the improvement of people＇s livelihood; the basic living conditions of people with low incomes must be guaranteed; great attention should be paid to the eco- logical view of people＇s livelihood; there is never a finishing point to the protection and im- provement of people＇s livelihood; and the fruits of reform must be shared by all people. Xi＇s thoughts on people＇s livelihood are very distinctive up to date, close to the people and inno- vative.
