The general status of Pianqiao Reservoir as the drinking water source of Xuanwei city was introduced. The demarcation of the protected area of the drinking water source was specified. The situation of environmental supervision in the reservoir was summarized. The water quality of the reservoir was analyzed as well as the environ-mental problems. Countermeasures were put forward to alleviate the issues.
