Visitors attend an exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Long March at the Military Museum in Beijing on September 24. Under attacks by the then ruling Kuomintang, the Red Army, led by the Communist Party of China （CPC）, undertook an expedition from its bases in central and eastern parts of the country to Yan＇an in northwest China＇s Shaanxi Province from 1934 to 1936. The Long March paved the way for the CPC＇s victory in the civil war.
