The Chinese School of African Studies: Approaches

非洲学是中国现代学术的一个新兴学科,也是建构中国特色哲学社会科学的实践领域。中国非洲学的核心使命,是要立足于中非关系的民族实践,形成可以说明指导这一民族实践的理论话语体系。我们为此需从三方面努力:一是要以融通古今中外的继承性,在秉承中华学术优秀传统、借鉴国外学术资源、总结中非合作实践的基础上,形成非洲研究的中国气派;二是要以自尊自信的原创性、以中非双方正在做的事情为中心,着力解答中非双方面临的重大命题,提出新观点,构建新理论;三是要以规范严谨的系统专业性,在分门别类把握非洲历史、政治、经济、社会、文化诸领域基础上,将非洲的区域研究、领域研究、国别研究、专题研究融于一体,形成可以统摄各类非洲研究活动的非洲学学科与学位体系、教学人才体系、平台支撑体系。

African study is an emerging discipline of Chinese modem academia. It is also the practical field of constructing philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics. Based on the national practice of China - Mrica relations, the core mission of China＇s African studies is to form the theoretical discourse system that can offer instructions for the national practice. Therefore, the following efforts shall be made： first, sticking to inheritance and adhering to the Chinese academic tradition, drawing lessons from foreign academic resources, summarizing China- Africa cooperation practices, and forming the Chinese style of African studies ; second, adhering to originality that ＂features self - esteem and self - confidence, focusing on what China and African countries are currently doing, responding to the major challenges facing both sides, proposing new ideas, as well as building new theories; third, adhering to standard and rigorous professionalism, grasping the knowledge in the fields of African history, politics, economy, society and culture, taking African area studies, field studies, national studies, and special subject studies as a whole to form African studies＇ discipline system, talent system, and platform system which can guide various African researches.
