Professor Cai Xiaosun's Experience in Differentiation and Treatment of Dysmenorrhea

蔡小荪教授认为痛经乃虚实夹杂之证,治疗强调"求因为主,止痛为辅";主张辨证辨病相结合:原发性痛经以辨证为主,虚实为要;继发性痛经以辨病为先,随证加减;处方用药独具特色,轻清醇灵。并举验案2则。

Professor Cai Xiaosun considered that dysmenon＇hea was syndrome of deficiency and excess,and the treatment emphasized pathogeny as principle thing and pain relieving as auxiliary. He advocated the combination of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation. In diagnosis and treatment, primary dysmenorrhea was based on syndrome differentiation of excess and deficiency ; secondary dysmenorrhea was based on disease differentiation and modified according to the situation;the prescription medication was of unique characteristics, light and flexible. Two proven cases were presented for examples.
