Religious Heritage and Cultural Inheritance——Study on Mr.Ren Jiyu's Wisdom in Understanding and Inheritance of Chinese Traditional Culture

任继愈先生主张儒家是宗教,中国传统文化是高度宗教性的文化。然而,传统文化必须得到继承,任先生就积极主张继承传统文化。那么问题是,任先生作为中国马克思主义宗教学的奠基者,一名无神论者,在宗教遗产与文化继承这两边,他是如何协调与处理的呢?其实在认清宗教本质的同时,任先生并不讳言宗教,而是极力主张学习历史、整理国故,既批判有神论,又积极地去粗取精。尤其是高扬爱国主义的文化精髓,改造传统文化的宗教性,这就是任先生的智慧,他对于今天我们该如何继承传统文化,服务社会,有着现实的意义。

In Mr. Ren Jiyu＇s opinion, Confucianism is a kind of religion and Chinese traditional culture of religious nature. But our traditional culture must get inherited and Mr. Ren was just the scholar who insisted to pass down our culture. However, the question is that how Mr. Ren, as an atheist, dealt with the incompatibility between religion and atheism. In fact, Mr. Ren didn＇t avoid the religious nature of traditional culture, but he absorbed the fine things in traditional culture and critiqued theism. At the same time, his patriotism is a good succedaneum which can replace the theism as a new soul of traditional culture. We argue that this is where Mr. Ren＇s wisdom lies in.
