Contemporary China Studies in Australia

澳大利亚的中国研究是地缘政治与多元文化主义政策合力的产物。随着中国的对外开放,澳大利亚学者开始进入中国从事田野调查,使得借助文献研究为主的传统汉学和当代中国高层政治研究开始转向丰富多彩的当代中国社会研究。至于其当代中国研究的基本特点,可以从澳洲国家战略、学科整合以及澳洲学者的中国经历三个方面来分析。

Contemporary China studies in Australia is rooted in both of its geopolitics and multicultural policy. With implementation of China 's opening policy,more and more Australia scholars could come into China to do field- work which widen the areas of Sinology and the high-level politics studies in Australia; actually it makes China studies turn to the realistic Chinese society. This paper attempted to analyze the basic feature among three ways,such as Australia national strategy,disciplines integration in the universities,and experiences of the elite in China.
