Researches on a system with super-minicomputer VAX-11 and Model 75 array processor have been carried out in the past few years. Many people are now interested in the application of microcomputer in image processing. To share the resources of image data and programs, communication between different types of computers is needed.This paper describes the modulation eliminator and the method of direct connection used; Not only is a rapid data transfer permitted, but also the line noise can be eliminated. In asynchronous communication, the setting of an appropriate bit nu-m ber is of crucial importance to giving an optimal transfer speed. Softwares have been developed for VAX-11 and IBM-PC to perform interactive communication.
