Atlas study is a very significant and ancient cultural system retained for a long time in Chinese civilization. And there is a close and inner relationship among atlas study, epigraphy prosperous in northern Song dynasty, and modern western iconography. To speak concretely, atlas study visually and realistically depicts the history of Chinese civilization and musical culture, and lays a sound basis for the generation and advancement of epigraphy in Song dynasty.
