In the movie The Way We Are, director Ann Hui discloses the monotonous, tedious life stories of those insignificant nobodies who live in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong. By reproducing the mundane life sceneries, porlraying the common habits, customs, and traditional cultures, and depicting the warm, cozy feelings among friends, relatives, and people, the movie explores the beauty of trivial details in life and reveals an inclination to the aestheticization of everyday life.
