对于皖籍现代未名社作家台静农早期的两本小说集《地之子》和《建塔者》的研究,以往的研究往往强调二者在题材与风格上的差异性。但事实上《地之子》与《建塔者》共同表现了人间的不幸和凄惨,在人物形象塑造和空间意象的表现上具有相同的凝重悲哀的美学风貌。因此,台静农20世纪20年代的小说创作在诸多差异中也具有内在的统一性,这使得其小说创作呈现出驳杂丰富的风格特征。

The former research of Son of Land and The Tower Builder, novel collections of Tai Jingnong belonging to Unnamed Club in Anhui, always stresses differences between the two. But in fact ,the two novel collections both express ＂bitterness and sadness within the world＂ ,and use the same style of sadness to shape characters. So uniformity and difference exist simultaneously in Tai Jingnong＇ s novels in 1920s,which leads to mixed and abundant aesthetic styles for his novels.
