摘要
This paper,in the frame of Barthes and Foucault's ideas about the"Author",explores the complicated relationship between the author and reader by comparing the classical detective story,Edgar Allen Poe's The Murder in the Rue Morgue, and the metaphysical detective story,Paul Auster'City of Glass and Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose. These two stories investigate the perspectives;the story of crime and the story of investigation.
