Library Makerspace Construction Based on Crowd Funding Theory

This paper reveals makerspaces and crowd funding concept and its development, and points out the necessity of using crowd funding concept in library makerspace construction. It expounds the theoretical framework of public library makerspace project, as well as the crowd funding model of the equipment and projects of public library makerspace. Also, it points out that using crowd funding model to publicise the public library makerspace, and using makerspace to stimulate the crowd funder’s enthusiasm are the strategy of building library makerspace under the theory of crowd funding. The nature of the library and the return of crowd funding projects should be taken into consideration when constructs library makerspace.
