摘要
本研究采用词汇扩展和语法判断任务,探讨第二语言习得对英汉双语者物体计量释解的影响。结果发现:1)在英语条件下,英汉双语者与英、汉单语者偏向形状对复杂物体进行释解;2)英语单语者偏向形状对简单物体进行释解,中等水平英汉双语者和汉语单语者偏向材料,高水平双语者则无明显偏好;3)英语单语者对物质的释解无明显偏好,但汉语单语者和英汉双语者依赖于材料对其释解;4)影响双语者对物体计量释解的主要因素为其隐性名词可数性知识模块;5)在汉语条件下,双语者对复杂物体和物质的释解与其在英语条件下一致,但对简单物体的释解偏向于材料。本文认为,第二语言习得影响人们对物体的释解。
By adopting the grammaticality judgment task and the word extension task, the present study examines how entities are construed differently across languages from a perspective of L2 development. Results show that under the English condition,(1) all participants construed complex objects by shape;(2) the Chinese monolinguals and two groups of Chinese-English(C-E) bilinguals construed substances by material, while the English monolinguals showed no preference;(3) the English monolinguals construed simple objects by shape and the Chinese monolinguals and intermediate C-E bilinguals were material-biased in so doing, while the advanced C-E bilinguals showed no preference;(4) the bilinguals' implicit knowledge of noun countability was reliably correlated with their performance of entity construal under the English condition; and(5) however,under the Chinese condition the two groups of bilinguals construed simple objects by material.Based on these observations, it can be inferred that L2 acquisition influences learners' attention in the construal of real-world entities.
