Analysis of Don Ihde's “Phenomenology of Technology”

The basic approach to establish Don Ihde＇s phenomenology of technology is variational theories.The nature of variational theories is the use of technology tools to produce physical feeling of space and the variation is of multi-stability.Don Ihde＇s technique is characterized by aphenomenological empiricism transformation,which is sharply different from Begelman＇s.Another feature is the transcendence over traditional phenomenology with pragmatism.The employment of pragmatism is based on Don Ihde＇s understanding of technical tools practice,which reflects the of Don Ihde＇s recognition of the intentional connotation of technical tools.
