深渊科学与技术对于人类探索和理解海洋科学甚至地球科学十分重要,深渊科学工程技术研究中心通过打造世界级深渊科学技术流动实验室来全力发展前沿深海科学与技术。阐述了深渊科学概念,从海洋强国战略背景和建设目标论述了建立深渊科学工程技术中心的必要性,介绍了深渊中心的人才队伍、管理制度、研发平台及开放服务的建设方法及成效。探讨了助力中心发展的民间资金与国家支持相结合的新资金模式,以及通过开设"走进深渊"新生研讨课来提高对具有创新能力和奉献精神的海洋人才培养。

Hadal science and technology is of great importance to not only man＇s exploration to oceans science but also the whole earth science. The Engineering Research Center of Hadal Science and Technology （HAST） sets up to develop frontier deep-sea science and technology based on the research of a world-class movable laboratory for hadal science and technology. The concept of hadal is introduced. The necessity of establishing HAST is described in terms of orientating the maritime power strategy and contributing goal. The method and effect of talent team, management system, research and development platform and its open service are presented. The new fund mode of private investments combined with national support is carried out to boost the development of HAST. The freshman seminar course of Approaching Hadal is provided to improve the ability of innovation and the spirit of dedication for marine talents.
