毛泽东思想以其巨大的影响力引起了欧美学界的关注。费正清、史华慈、施拉姆、尼克·奈特、怀利等学者在欧美毛泽东思想研究的过程中具有很大贡献。欧美学界有关毛泽东思想研究的著作以及期刊,较为关注毛泽东思想与马克思主义的关系问题、毛泽东思想与马克思主义中国化问题、毛泽东思想中的工人阶级和农民阶级的关系与地位等问题,这些研究促进了欧美社会对毛泽东思想的了解。
The great influence of Mao Zedong's thoughts has aroused attention from European-American academic circles. Scholars like John King Fairbank, Benjamin I.Schwartz, Schramm, Nick Knight, White and etc. all made great contribution to the European-American academic researches on Mao Zedong's thoughts. The works and periodicals concerning Mao Zedong's thoughts in Europe and America focus on the relations between Mao's thoughts and Marxism, Mao's thoughts and the sinicization of Marxism, and Mao's thoughts on the relationship between working class and peasant class and their respective social status. All above have deepened European-American knowledge of Mao Zedong's thoughts.
