摘要
《地球上的最后一座小镇》是2007年库伯奖优秀历史小说奖作品。本文把小说置于作者创作的医学伦理环境中,分析作者马伦在小说中表现的个人权利与公共健康之间的伦理对立,进而探究作者对于用社群主义思想解决传染病伦理冲突既肯定又怀疑的矛盾态度,藉以揭示当代传染病伦理学所面临的伦理困境。
Thomas M ullun’ s The Last Town on Earth won the James Fenimore Cooper Prize for BestHistorical Fiction in 2007. The ethical confliction between individual rights and public health have been analyzedin this paper from the perspective of medical ethics, then this paper discussed M ullun’ s ambivalent attitudetowards the guidance of communitarianism in the resolving of ethical conflicts of the infectious disease and revealthe ethical dilemmas faced by ethics of infectious diseases.
