摘要
国家间增进军事互信、深化军事关系以及开展防务合作需要利用军事外交。长期以来,印美关系的发展对我国的周边安全环境有深远的战略影响。2001年的9·11事件是1998年印度核试验之后美印关系转暖的契机,美国总统小布什高调宣布进行全球反恐战争,印度适时地加入到美国的全球反恐阵营中,两国的战略利益协调一致,战略合作进程明显加快。在9·11事件之后的14年中,印美双方通过进行深入的军事外交来发展和巩固印美战略关系,本文拟考察9·11事件以来印美战略关系中的军事外交的成效。
Military diplomacy could improve mutual trust,deepen military ties and promote defence cooperation between nations. The growing Indo- US military relations has great strategic impact on China's peripheral security. The 'September 11 Attacks'presented a new opportunity for improving the Indo- US relations which had some setbacks after Indian nuclear test in 1998,and India jointed the US immediately when President George W. Bush announced his global war on terrorism. Over the last 14 years,India and the United States have noticeable improved their strategic relationship through military diplomacy and this paper intends to look into some specific achievements of the military diplomacy between the two countries.
