Air nozzle type and effect on characteristics of air-jet textured yarns

The distinguishing features of different air-texturing jets were described and the test methods used to assess some important properties of air-textured yarns were discussed. The properties of air-textured yarns produced using various currently used commercial jets were compared. The important process parameters such as overfeed percentage, air pressure and heater temperature were kept constant only the nozzles were changed and various properties of formed air- jet textured yarns were assessed. The textured yarn properties like yarns linear density, boiling water shrinkage, physical bulk, loop stability and loop frequency were found to change for different air nozzle diameters.
