Discussion on the Basic Principles of Religious Legislation in the Qing Dynasty

清代注重用法律制度来调整宗教,在进行宗教立法时遵循皇权高于教权、以儒统教、从俗从宜、宽容与限制并行等基本原则。这些原则对清代宗教的发展产生了重要影响。

The Qing dynasty paid attention to using legal system to adjust the religion, following such basic principles in the process of religious legislation as imperial power higher than the religious right, to govem religion with Confucianism, preferably following traditions, and parallel of tolerance and limitations. These principles had a significant influence on the development of religion in the Qing dynasty.
