摘要
江苏的国际形象是江苏形象不可分割的一部分,是独立于"自塑"形象之外的"他塑"形象。美国媒体拥有强大的国际话语权,其建构的江苏形象引导国际社会对江苏的认知。基于语料库语言学分析方法,选取美国当代英语语料库(COCA)中的涉苏语料,通过词频、索引等定量分析和话语意识形态的定性分析,藉此剖析美国媒介对江苏的形象建构。结果表明,1990-2012年间,报道江苏的媒介种类呈多元化,既有传统的报纸、杂志和电视,又包括学术期刊、畅销小说和主流智库等;涉苏报道的议程设置聚焦于政治和经济,但也辐射至环境、教育、体育、艺术等领域;在报道的意识形态方面,负面报道多于中立和正面报道之和,但明显呈现出从"冷战"时期的霸权与抵制向新世纪以来友好与合作的转变。
The international image of Jiangsu,constructed largely by the international community other than by the provincial administration,is an indispensable part of Jiangsu image.The media of USA,holding much of international power of discourse,have been playing a leading role in image construction of other regions.Based on an empirical study of Jiangsu-related news and information compiled in COCA,Jiangsu international image was probed into by means of quantitative as well as qualitative analysis.Results show that the media that reported about Jiangsu during from 1990 to 2012were diverse,including not only newspapers,magazines,TV programs,but also popular novels and main-stream think tanks.Such fields as politics and economics were focused while a transfer from hegemony during"the Cold War"to pursuit for cooperation since the new century was manifested.
