As a witness of the Cultural Revolution, Chinese writer living in America, Yan Geling , who travels through over 30 years of time and space distance and stands in the intersection of Chinese and Western culture , holds an alternative opinion in her unique perspective on the Cultural Revolution. She shapes the two female images - Sun Likun and Xu Qunshan in the ＂ White Snake＂ to explore the secluded human nature in the extreme environment and the complex politics, life, and emotion be- hind it thoroughly, which profoundly reveals the female survival predicament in the Cuhural Revolution era.
