摘要
本研究通过对114名中美大学生的词汇联想测试探索英汉语言心理词汇联想模式。研究发现:1)英语本族语者联想模式以纵聚合联系为主导,而汉语本族语者以横组合联系为主导;2)英语学习者的总体词汇联想模式更接近英语本族语者,而非汉语本族语者,但学习者的横组合联系明显弱于英语本族语者;3)具体性效应在英语本族语者和学习者联想测试中表现相似,即具体词以横组合联系为主导,抽象词以纵聚合联系为主导,但汉语联想测试没有体现具体性效应。
This study explored L1 English, L1 Chinese and L2 English word association and concreteness effect with 114 Chinese and American college students as participants. Three major findings yielded from the study: 1 ) L1 English mental lexicon was predominated by paradigmatic association, while L1 Chinese lexicon was predominated by syntagmatic association; 2 ) L2 English learners' overall association patterns largely mirrored those of L1 English speakers instead of L1 Chinese speakers ; 3 ) concreteness effect was found in both L1 and L2 English association but not in L1 Chinese association, and concrete stimuli tended to elicit more syntagmatic responses and less paradigmatic responses than abstract stimuli.
