Objective To observe the clinical effect of transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation to reduce the bone marrow suppression of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) during chemotherapy. Methods A total of 86 NSCLC patients were assigned to the obser- vation group ( n = 43) and the control group ( u = 43 ) in accordance with the random number table. Both two groups received chemotherapy with gemcitabine and cispIatin and conventional nursing care. The observation group was given transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation and related nursing in- tervention additionally. The incidence of bone marrow suppression and changes in blood tests indicators were observed, and the degree of comfort to nursing service was evaluated. Results The incidence of leukocyte and granulocyte were lower in the observation group than those in the control group during chemotherapy(P 〈0.05 ) . Levels of leucocyte and platelet were decreased in both of two groups after chemotherapy, and were lower in the control group than those in the observation group ( P 〈 0.05 ). The score of comfort assessment was decreased in the control group at 3 and 6 days after initiation of chemotherapy compared with that before chemotherapy (P 〈 0.05 ) , but with no significant difference in the observation group ( P 〉 0.05 ). Conclusion Transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation could reduce the risk of bone marrow suppression and increase the degree of comfort in NSCLC patients during chemotherapy.
