摘要
语言作为一种社会现象,是思想的直接现实。地域方言作为语言的一种变体,在某种程度上反映了语言结构与社会结构(如权势关系,亲缘关系等)之间的相互关系。然而,仅从社会学的角度去看劳伦斯的语言问题却忽略了劳伦斯一贯关注的人的存在问题,从《白孔雀》到《查泰莱夫人的情人》,通过方言言说者的背景的置换,劳伦斯成功塑造了一位在标准英语与地方方言间自由转换的男主人公—梅勒斯,他的语体变化不仅有助于这个"自然之子"的男性形象刻画,在一定程度上也反映了劳伦斯对于文明与存在的思考,反映了方言背后劳伦斯的哲学观照——语言与生态观。
Language,as a social phenomenon, is the thought. Sapir (E. Sapir) points out that, from the perspective of behavior, one faces not only the structure of the language itself, but also a psychological and social phenomenon. Dialect, as a kind of language variation, to a certain extent, reflects the relationship between language structure and social structure (such as power relationship, genetic relationship, etc) . However, it is partial if we see Lawrentian language only from the sociological perspective because Lawrentian language always focuses on the Being problems. From the white peacock to Lady Chatterley,s Lover, Lawrence replaces the hero,s background information, thus successfully characterizes a hero - Mellors, who switches between standard English and dialect. By means of dialect, Lawrence expresses his language philosophy and an ecological point of view toward language.
