It is a very good angle of view to inspect the transition of child education and values of a certain country from the values expressed in its child literature and the social behaviors contained in it. This article goes over the development of American child literature that has been extending for nearly 300 years, divides it into six phases, further concludes the mainstream values and the representative works in every phase, and summarizes the characteristics of value transition expressed in American child literature
