青海道是丝绸之路的一条重要路线,它是由青海省内若干条具体路线所构成的交通网络,这一网络在不同历史时期发挥着不同历史作用。地处湟水下游的乐都历来是沟通内地与青海及至西域的重要通道。乐都境内几条纵横交错的交通古道,勾通了丝绸之路青海道上西去东来、南来北往的重要途径,是青海古代交通的重要组成部分。随着学术研究的不断深入,古丝绸之路上大量支线和辅线史料的发掘和研究,将成为我们今后的重要课题。
