Objective Through the observation of first aid knowledge and skills training for students, to explore the superiority of MOOC. Methods 200 students of medical four-year undergraduate were randomly divided into experimental group( group A) and normal group(group B), and each group had 100 students. The training content of the two groups includeed theoretical study and practical operation training, the theory study group B was given priority to with self-study, A group of students was given MOOC platform by watching video on the internet. Two groups had the same practical training way. Difference on the questionnaire survey and examination scores between the two groups was observed. Results In 16 common emergency degree of technical knowledge, before training, the common knowledge of first aid technology awareness rate of the two groups is low, group A was 22.38 %, group B was20.56%, but no statistically significant differences between the two groups, P 0.05. After training, awareness rate of the two groups has greatly promoted, the treatment group was 97.75%, the average group was 91.81%, but there was no significant difference between the two groups, P 0.05. But after theoretical study, the awareness rate of group A(89.38 %) was significantly better than the normal group(68.13%), 0.05. In terms of assessment results, training qualified rate of the two groups is higher, group A was98%, group B was 94%, and there was no significant difference between the two groups, P 0.05). But the proficiency rate of group A was 41%, comparing with group B(20%), and there was significant differences between the two groups, P 0.05. Conclusion Using MOOC platform for public emergency knowledge and skills training has more obvious effect. MOOC as a new teaching mode is worth promoting.
