Russian formalism was born in the early 19th century, which has great influence and significance. Many ideas in the formalism have similarities with China＇s Jiangxi poetry in Song dynasty.We can understand its common points and the cultural differences by comparing and analyzing the two schools. This paper will compare the two schools from perspectives of the background, basic theory and the historical influence to find their similarities.
