Theoretical Roots, Supporting Conditions and Main Paths of Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Education at MIT

摘要 跨学科教育作为一种新的人才培养模式在大学里兴起。麻省理工学院基于英才教育、手脑并重、合作开放的教育理念,努力为跨学科培养本科生创造良好的支撑条件,形成了一体化的校园建筑、多元化的学生群体和多样化的培养资源。该院跨学科培养本科生的主要途径是,开设跨学科课程、建设学术共同体、实施跨学科研究计划。 Interdisciplinary education is rising at universities as a new mode of developing talents. Based on educational theories that emphasize elite education, "Mind and Hand" and cooperation and openness, MIT devotes itself to create good supporting conditions for interdisciplinary undergraduate education, such as integrated campus architectures, diverse student groups and educational resources. The main paths of interdisciplinary undergraduate education at MIT are to offer interdisciplinary courses, establish academic communities and implement interdisciplinary research program.
