摘要 E级(Exascale)计算机有望在2020年前后投入使用,E级计算将给计算科学和科学研究带来革命性的变化。计算流体力学(CFD)作为超大规模计算机应用的重要领域之一,将迎来前所未有的发展机遇,同时也将面临极其严峻的技术挑战。本文对当前国内外超大规模CFD计算的现状进行了概述,探讨了未来CFD的发展趋势,并对E级计算给CFD带来的机遇与挑战进行了分析,最后提出了适应未来E级计算的CFD发展思路与建议。为了实现E级计算的宏伟目标,CFD与计算机科学、应用数学等学科的"协同设计"势在必行。我们期待本文的分析能对我国的高性能计算应用、CFD发展有一定的启示作用。 Exascale computer system will come into service in around 2020,and exascale computing will lead to transformational changes in computing scientific and scientific research.In Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD),one of the main application fields of high performance computing,computing at the exascale promises dramatic advances in our capabilities to model and simulate complex phenomena of flows, at levels of fidelity that have the potential to dramatically change both our understanding and our ability to comprehend.Thus,there are almost certain to be great benefits to going to the exascale.In this paper,the opportunity and grand challenges in CFD were discussed with approaching of exascale computing.Firstly,the current progress of high performance computing in CFD was reviewed briefly.Secondly,the grand challenges and development tendency in CFD itself and applications of exascale computing in CFD were discussed.Finally,the suggestion for the development of future CFD was presented in the authors’opinion.In order to achieve the goal of exascale computing in CFD,the co-design of CFD,applied the applied math,the computer science,and the hardware community (including the hardware vendors)should be closely coupled in the exascale program.
