LIU Yong-ji's Comments on Qu Yuan's Phrase“these songs with their own lofty style”

在刘永济看来,屈原之"自铸伟辞"主要包括两个层面:楚国"固有文化"为屈原创作"伟辞"奠定了丰厚基础;屈原所铸"伟辞"为中国文学树立了新的坐标。刘永济论屈原所读之书"有出于孔子删定之外者"并由此透视涵育了屈原的社会风尚、文化氛围,论屈赋所开创的新的抒情境界、景物描写的文学史意义和多样化风格,精义纷呈,时有卓见。

LIU Yong-ji's comments on Qu Yuan's phrase 'these songs w ith their ow n lofty style',mainly includes tw o aspects. Firstly,indigenous culture of Chu laid a rich foundation for Qu Yuan to create his lofty songs,and w hat Qu Yuan created had established a new standard for Chinese literature. Secondly,Liu stated that Qu Yuan had read some books w hich Confucius didn't edit ever,and through this conclusion he analyzed the social customs and cultural atmosphere in w hich Qu Yuan grew,as w ell as the new lyric state,the significance of literary history of the scenery description,the diversified styles created by Qu Fu. In all,his discussion is penetrating,brilliant,and sometimes insightful.
