手足口病具有暴发性、剧烈性、危重性、传染性、难治性、顽固性之特点,属于中医毒邪的范畴,以湿热毒邪为主。手足口病发病正值夏季,湿热当令,小儿稚阴稚阳之体,素食肥甘,湿热之体,外感邪毒,内外合邪,湿热壅盛,熏蒸肌表,伤及营血,其病乃成。
