The Gothic art in the Middle Ages met the Arts and Crafts Movement in Britain hundreds of years later, which is both accidental and inevitable. Gothic art played an important role in the Arts and Crafts Movement by Morris and other leaders, its profound impact rocked the whole design field, especially the indoor furniture design. Taking Britain＇s Industrial Revolution as the historical background, this article contacted the Gothic art with the Arts and Crafts Movement, analyzed the Arts and Crafts Movement＇s influence on furniture design from the form of furniture, production methods, and design concept.
