Hejiacun Hoard has been excavated for over 40 years, but its property is still one of the foci of the arguments of the academic field: if they were all utensils for daily use, why so many vessels bore uniform lotus flower designs? Why the sarira reliquaries found in other occasions of the same period have so similar forms with the vessels in the Hejiacun Hoard? Through the comparison of the lotus flower designs on these utensils with that on the pedestals of the Buddhist statues, the offering utensils and the special sarira reliquaries unearthed at Famen Temple, this paper pointed out that the utensils unearthed from Hejiacun Hoard belonged to the imperial family of the Tang Dynasty, and they were made as the offering wares of the imperial family to Buddha.
