唐代守明州司马宋元质墓志考略

The Examination of the Epitaph of Song Yuanzhi,the Acting Sima(Vice Prefect)of the Mingzhou Prefecture of the Tang Dynasty

唐代守明州司马宋元质墓志于2006年采集于西安市西三环红光路立交附近。由墓志可知,宋元质本人崛起于行伍,后仕虔州司户参军,终于守明州司马。会昌四年(844)卒于京兆长安县辅兴里第,同年葬于长安县承平乡李村。该墓志的发现为研究唐人入仕及唐代长安城乡里分布提供了新材料。

The epitaph of Song Yuanzhi, the acting sima （vice prefect） of the Mingzhou Prefecture of the Tang Dynasty, was unscientifically unearthed nearby the overpass of the West 3rd Ring Road and Hongguang Road in Xi＇an. The epitaph let us know that Song Yuanzhi was promoted from a man in the army as the slhu canjun （adjutant of revenue section of the government） of the Qianzhou Prefecture, and died as the acting sima （vice prefect） of the Mingzhou Prefecture in the fourth year of Huichang Era （844） at his home in Fuxing Ward in Chang＇an, and was buried at Licun Village in Chengping Township, Chang＇an. The discovery of this epitaph provided new materials for the research on the official promotion procedures and the distribution of the wards and townships of the Chang＇an City in the Tang Dynasty.
