魏晋南北朝时期诗歌中的夸张表达的内容颇有特点,在一般诗歌中用以抒情状物,在玄言诗中用以体悟玄理,在山水诗中用以描绘自然之景,在乐府诗中用以表达男女之情。一般诗歌的夸张展现的是崇高之美,并具有雄健激昂的特色。玄言诗、山水诗、乐府诗夸张展现的是优美,并且各具特色:玄言诗的夸张展现的是虚淡简约的美,山水诗的夸张展现的是"初发芙蓉"的美,乐府诗的夸张展现的是哀怨缠绵的美。

The hyperbole of the poems in Wei,Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties has special characteristics. It was used to represent the mystery in the metaphysical poems,describe the natural scene in the scenic poems and express love between men and women in Yuefu poems. The aesthetic expressions of such hyperbole manifest graces of different kinds,which were showed as contracted beauty in the metaphysical poems,fresh beauty in the scenic poems,and the beauty of the sadness in the Yuefu poems.
