In order to make full use of the space of an offshore oil platform in its upgrading, adding a small platform is normally needed. How to meet the strength requirement for both the new and original platform is the key point. In this article strength of the added platform and original platform is checked through software ANSYS. It is shown that the computation is comprehensive, reasonable and accurate.
