老子通过《道德经》提出了一套包括治理理想、治理要点、治理主体要求在内的比较完整的社会治理思想。这套思想深深地影响了中国的学术发展,在中国各类社会主体互动的实践中发挥了巨大指导作用并在中国人的精神世界中占据显赫位置。在我们努力提高社会治理水平的今天,必须将老子社会治理思想中今天仍然合理的部分剥离出来,摒弃老子社会治理思想中的糟粕,正确估价老子在当代中国民间的影响力,从而充分汲取老子社会治理思想中的积极因素。

Lao Tzu put forward a set of relatively complete social governance thought, including the ideal of governance, gov- ernance points and the requirements of the main body of governance through ＂Tao Te Ching＂. The thought has deeply influenced China＇s academic development and played a great guiding role in the practice of the interaction among all kinds of social subjects in China, occupying a central position in the spiritual world of Chinese people. Today when China is struggling to improve the level of social governance, it is wise to learn from Lao Tzu. We should strip out the rational part, discard the dross and have a correct evaluation of its contemporary folk influence, so as to fully absorb positive factors from him.
