Intertextual Analysis of President Xi Jinping's Speeches in Intercultural Contexts

互文性分析重在揭示语篇中互文性结构背后所隐藏的意识形态意义和社会权力关系。作为国家最高领导人,习近平主席在其跨文化语境讲话中往往带有很强烈的政治和国家意识形态。通过对习近平主席跨文化语境讲话中的谚语、古语、名人名言等具体互文性现象进行符号学以及批评话语分析,可以看到其中心主题就是向世界宣传中国,目的是让更多人了解中国、认识中国。

Intertextual analysis focuses on revealing the ideological significance and the social power relations hidden in the in- tertextual structure of a discourse. An intense political and national ideology can always be detected in President Xi Jinping＇s spee- ches delivered in intercultural contexts. The author of this paper presents a semiotic and critical discourse analysis of such intertextu- al phenomena as proverbs, archaism, and famous quotations in the president＇s speeches. The analysis shows that intertextuality helps to introduce China so that the world will have a better understanding of the country.
