In the process of urbanization in China, to save and rationally utilize the water and soil resources of grain production and to promote the coordinated development of urbanization and water and soil resources of grain production is currently a very realistic and important problem that our country is facing. Based on the descriptive analysis of urbanization and the water and soil resources of grain production in our country from 1998 to 2013, from the perspective of time and space, by using the coupling coordination function, this article calculated and compared the coupling coordination degree of urbanization and the water and soil resources of grain production in each functional area. The research results show that:(1) From the temporal point of view, the coupling coordination degree of urbanization and the water and soil resources of grain production has been maintaining between 0.41- 0.46, and the coupling coordination situation is not very idea, each functional area facing the situation of"on the verge of imbalance";(2) From the spatial point of view, the coupling coordination degree has differences between provinces.
