The social and economic development of Xinjiang creates a great number of ancient books with long history and rich in content. These books witnessed the civilization development of Xinjiang. And it is of great significance to protect these books because they are vital to the culture continuity and development as well as the construction of harmonious relationship between ethnics in Xinjiang. This article summarizes the progress of Xinjiang ancient book＇s protection in survey and registration so as to lay the foundation for improving the protection work.
