摘要
采用模拟和实验方法研究了GEM探测器自身提供的公共触发信号的特性,得到触发信号的极性和幅度与探测器感应区的场强密切相关;通过对探测器在产生不同极性触发信号的配置高压下的好事例率、位置分辨率以及成像性能的测试分析,得出负触发信号与正触发信号一样均可以作为探测器的有效公共触发信号,不会影响探测器的性能。为GEM探测器适应不同工作条件而采用不同的公共触发高压设置提供参考。
Simulation and experimental methods were used to study the characteristics of the common trigger sig- nal offered by the GEM detector and we found that the polarity and the amplitude of the common signal were closely related to the electric field strength of the induction area. By testing the good event rate, spatial resolu- tion and imaging performance of the detector working with different operation voltage, we draw a conclusion that negative common trigger signal, as well as positive common trigger signal, can be used as effective common trig- ger without affecting the performance of the detector. This study provides a reference of the high voltage setting for the GEM detectors using different common trigger signals to adapt different applications.
