Comparing Sarah Waters＇ The little Stranger with Agatha Christie＇s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, the thesis will analyze features of anti-detective fiction in The Little Stranger, namely unreliable narrator, the process of the event and the open ending, which help deepen the understanding of Waters＇ inheritance and subversion of detective fiction.
