荀子思想集先秦诸子之大成,其伦理思想以性恶论为理论基础,以"隆礼"为重心,提倡以礼为核心的道德规范和治国理念;把礼看作是道德生活和政治生活的最高准则,强调礼对于国家治理不可或缺的作用,具有强烈的政治伦理意蕴和现实主义色彩,对中国传统社会的治国理政和今天社会主义和谐社会建设都具有重要的现实意义。

Xunzi was the master of pre-qin. His thought of ethics set basis on the＂evil human nature＂. Rites as the core, ad- vocated governing the country with rites as the core of ethics and philosophy. It was the highest standard in the moral life and political life and played an indispensable role in the governance. From the political ethics and realistic perspective it has an im- portant practical significance on both the governing principle of the traditional Chinese society and constructing harmonious so- cialist society.
