Early scholars comments and interpretation of Chuang Tzu s literature mainly includes Huizi s comments and Chuang Tzus self-interpretation, Liu An and Sima Qians reviews and explanation, Liu Xiang and Ban Gus evaluation and eluci- dation. There isnt too much elucidation of Chuang Tzus literature in this period, but it has the beginning and guiding signifi- cance in Chuang Tzus literature interpretation of history. Especially Chuang Tzus self-interpretation of his unique stylistic rules and layout, pattern of manifestation, expressional methods, writing style and the purport of creation. In addition to this, Sima Qians explanation of Chuang Tzus pattern of manifestation and imaginary characteristic, the language arts and poetic charac- ter, language features and aesthetic style. Liu Xiang explained the conception and connotation of Chuang Tzu＂fables＂in Bie Lu and so on. All of those have very important significance and influence in Chuang Tzus literature interpretation history.
