Zhang Yunpeng's Experience of Treating Different Diseases with Same Therapy

张教授认为肝气郁结一证,治当疏肝活血为法。张教授一直崇尚中医诊病当以辨证论治为先,而不应以辨病为先,不仅仅是在于病的异同,而是着眼于病机的区别。异病可以同治,其关键在于辨识不同疾病有无共同的病机,病机相同,才可采用相同的治法,即"重法不重方"。另外异病同治可以采用同法同方治疗,但采用相同的治法也需要考虑药物作用的细微差别。临证其采用疏肝活血法治疗心悸、眩晕、便秘、泄泻属肝气郁结证者,均获佳效。

Professor Zhang holds that the syndrome of liver qi depression should he treated by the method of dispersing liver and activating blood. Professor Zhang advoeates all the time that the Chinese medieine diagnosis should put syndrome differentiation hefore disease differentiation, because the differentiation of pathogenesis is more important than the differentiation of disease. Dif- ferent diseases can be treated with the same therapy and the key is to differentiate whether two different diseases have thc same pathogenesis. For diseases with same pathogenesis, same therapy can be applied, which is called ＂ same therapy but different prescription＂. Besides, different diseases can also be treated with the same prescription and same method, but the subtle differ- ence between drugs should be taken into consideration in the same therapy. In clinic, the method of dispersing liver and aeliva- ting hlood flow is commonly with excellent effects on such symptoms as palpitation, dizziness, constipation, diarrhea pertaining to liver qi depression.
