贝克莱《人类知识原理》关文运中译本存在的一些问题

Some Errors in GUAN Wen-yun's Chinese Translation of George Berkeley's Principles of Human Knowledge

关文运先生是我国著名的西方哲学翻译家,他曾经翻译过关于经验论、唯理论以及康德哲学的著作,为我国西方哲学的研究做出了重要贡献。但是,为时代所限,他的许多翻译著作又存在一些问题,甚至是误译。例如,他译的贝克莱《人类知识原理》就存在一些问题,有些地方甚至完全曲解了贝克莱的意思。根据笔者新译的贝克莱《人类知识原理》,对比关译本,列出有重要分歧的地方24处,并加以分析,这对于我们如何理解贝克莱哲学、对于西方哲学的中文翻译都是有意义的。

Mr. GUAN Wen-yun （1904-1973） was famous for his translation of empiricist and rationalist works as well as Kant＇s works of philosophy, which made important contribu tions to the study of western philosophy in China. However, with the limitation of his times, there are a lot of errors in his Chinese translations. For example, there are some errors in his Chinese translation of Principles of Human Knowledge by George Berkeley. In the paper, the author compares his new Chinese translation of Principles of Human Knowledge with GUAN＇s edition, lists out 24 items of basic differences in them, and analyses them briefly. This work is significant for our understanding of Berkeley＇s philosophy and the Chinese translation on western philosophy.
