中西方文学和翻译史视阈下的胡适翻译思想刍议

A Humble Opinion of Hu Shih's Translation Thoughts from the Perspective of Literature and Translation History in China and the West

胡适作为新文化运动的先驱之一,揭开了中国文化史上的一个新篇章。追溯了胡适"用白话文翻译外国文学""只译名家著作,不译第二流以下著作"等翻译思想所产生的时代背景,阐明了胡适翻译思想形成的原因,着重分析了中西方文学和翻译史对胡适翻译思想的影响,同时,指出了胡适翻译思想对翻译界及社会广泛而深远的影响。

Hu Shih,a pioneer of the New Culture Movement,opened a new chapter for Chinese cultural history. This paper makes an attempt to analyze the historical background of Hu ’s translation thoughts,such as ＂translating foreign literature in vernacular Chinese＂and ＂only translating famous w orks and not second- rate w orks ＂. The author illustrates the root causes of Hu ’s translation thoughts,and focuses on the influence of literature and translation history in China and the w est on Hu Shih’s translation thoughts. M eanw hile,the author points out the extensive and profound influences to the field of translation and society.
